* A WATCHMAN WARNING: HELP! CONFUSING TIMES! - WE NEED THE HELP GOD HAS FOR US

 

Things are quite confusing for many people today.  Even those who are serious Christians may find discerning the truth challenging.

 

Below I have a few points I hope will keep us all on an even keel and filled with peace despite all around us.

 

1. Foremost, if you do not know whether you have been born again and thus are saved, take care of that first. By yourself or with a serious believer, ask the Lord to be the Lord of your life.  Ask for forgiveness for your sins.  It’s really simple.  Paul himself said if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that Jesus rose from the dead, you have been saved.

 

 

2. USE THE HOLY SPIRIT’S GUIDANCE! - If you do not know if you have the Holy Spirit or have been baptized by the Spirit, follow this step. You need the tangible guidance of the Holy Spirit.  I hear people say they believe they got the Holy Spirit when they accepted Christ, but generally there is no obvious evidence of that.  This is the truth:  Anyone filled with and baptized with the Holy Spirit knows it.  The Spirit is a badge, a guarantee of your salvation.  And he comes with great gifts, such as discernment which helps you determine the truth in situations and speech by others.  Remember, the Holy Spirit leads you in all truth and shows you things to come.  That guidance is spiritual but it is also tangible. If you do not believe you have been filled with/baptized with the Holy Spirit, get some serious born again, Spirit-filled believer to pray with you for that.  Or you can pray yourself seriously for that.

 

 

3. USE THE BIBLE - Realize in your heart the Bible is true and live as if you believe it. Check any guidance or info you receive from others against the Bible.

 

 

4. USE THE WARNINGS OF JESUS - Jesus gave some very specific warnings to his disciples – and thus to us – about these days in which we live.

 

 

• • “Watch that you are not deceived” – Surely you see the massive deception all around, in some political leaders, television and other media people, entertainers, preachers, and others. . If you hear something from someone – a minister, someone telling you of things to come, whoever – always check what you hear against what the Bible says.  If it does not fit, then don’t accept it.  I don’t care if the person is famous or not.  Doesn’t matter.  Just because someone is famous does not automatically make what he says true.

 

 

• • “False prophets” – Jesus also warned about false prophets in these days. These would be people who say things about our time or the future that are just not true.  Certainly there are so many voices out there that people can easily be misled by all the confusion and statements and supposed prophecies.  You have to really think about what to believe and what to accept.  The Holy Spirit helps you with that.  The Bible helps you with that.  You can also discuss some concerns with friends who are serious believers, but remember – they can be confused or misled too.  Pick them carefully.  This is a difficult time we live in.

 

 

• • Jesus also warned there would be people claiming to be the Messiah. Thankfully we aren’t seeing those yet, at least on a major scale.  Just remember, Jesus is not going to be down here on earth walking around visibly and teaching and preaching.  His next big appearance will be coming in the sky to gather his believers.  Then he will be back at the end of the Tribulation to lead his forces in annihilating his enemies at Armageddon.

 

 

 

 

5. USE THE BRAIN, the mind that God has given you. You know there are physical laws on earth God set up long ago that remain in force – gravity for example.  You certainly would not step off a cliff expecting to be fine.  Well, you have the knowledge and intelligence to realize that truth.  So why would you put yourself in obviously dangerous positions?  For example, why go out and join an angry mob that is likely to riot.  People as we all know get hurt in mobs.  Or in this time of coronavirus, why go to a gathering of many people who will be close together?  Yes, God can protect you, but he already has given you a mind to make good decisions.  Remember, Jesus declared “Do not put the Lord your God to the test.”

 

 

6. USE GOD’S PROTECTION – Use the tools God has given us and I have written about frequently. And remember all that he has given us regarding health and healing.  Remember further that you in Jesus’ name can cast out demons.  All good advice!!! 

 

 

7. USE GOD’S GUIDANCE - Plan ahead. Ask for guidance from the Lord, from the Father, from the Holy Spirit.  Seek to plan in case things get worse where you live.  Maybe store up some food and water as people did on the coast when we lived there and they were ready for hurricanes.  Maybe think about a place to go if your area suddenly gets really unpleasant.  These are not happy thoughts, but then this is wisdom.

 

 

8. USE THE BIBLE’S WORDS ABOUT JESUS’ RETURN – The Bible is full of information and prophecy about the time of the return of Jesus. Go to the Return of Jesus Resources page on our website to get information on all this.  Read the Bible chapters such as Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, Zechariah 14, Luke 17:20-37, and more.

 

 

I expect the Lord to come really soon based on all that has been fulfilled and on all he has told me over the years.  But I know that does not necessarily mean in the next few days.  It can be a few years too.  And we really don’t know how difficult it can get before he comes.  Indications from his words and those of Paul and others are that it could get pretty difficult.

 

Remember, James said we can ask God for wisdom and if we do not doubt he will give it to us.  Ask him for the wisdom you need to deal with all that is happening and will happen.  Remember too God said to call out to him and he will show us great and hidden things we do not know.

*TIME TO STAND AGAINST STORM ISAIAS!

The Southeast United States and indeed all the Atlantic Coast states from Florida up to New England are again being threatened by an approaching storm, this time named Isaias by the meteorologists.  For a while it has not appeared clearly just how strong the storm is, but now it seems it is borderline hurricane 1 and may be at that level when and if it comes ashore in the Carolinas as forecasted. Currently it is offshore Florida.  In the past we have all seen just how much damage a storm of this size can do.

But we believers know what Jesus said about all this.   In John 14:12-14 Jesus said those who believe in him will do the same things he had been doing, even greater.  He said that he would do whatever we ask him in his name.  He also said over in John 16:23 that Father God will give us whatever we ask him in Jesus’ name.

In Mark 11:22-23 Jesus made the point that anyone who has faith in God can say to their mountain “go and throw yourself into the sea,” and if they believe and do not doubt, it will be done as they have said.  The mountain for those living along the Southeast coast especially but indeed the full Atlantic coast of the US today is the storm Isaias.

It’s time right now once again to focus on these verses and to put your faith into action.  The gospel of Jesus Christ is a gospel of power and not just word!  It is these verses and others that lead us to realize that in Jesus all things are possible.

What did Jesus do?  He healed the sick.  He also changed the weather.  And much more.    And he says we can do the same things as he.

Well, we do.  People do receive their healing!  And the weather is changed!

We have certainly seen hurricanes turn aside in the past and/or diminish in power when we and others took that bold stand and action in Jesus’ name, and we have faith and expect that now.  Remember in 2018 when hurricane Florence dropped from a category 4 to a category 1 almost immediately just before hitting land!  Remember hurricane Ophelia several years ago when it came right up to the Southeastern North Carolina shore but could not come ashore, remaining off the coast for a week before turning to go north.
So I ask now everyone wherever you are to use these truths to pray against this storm, to take a stand.  (I personally like to step outside and face southeast in this case, raising arm and hand with palm to the southeast, to the Atlantic Ocean.)

All of you should declare:

In Jesus’ name, I order the storm named Isaias to turn aside from land, to go out to sea and to diminish and disappear.  In Jesus’ name, I order that storm to touch no land and harm no people and no boats!

Be bold!  You can put this in your own words, but that is what Jesus said we could do.  Remember, he changed the weather.  He stopped storms.

Do it now!

* SIGN OF THE TIMES: REMEMBER

This is an extraordinary, unusual, and for most of us unprecedented time we are living in right now.  Keep your eyes on Jesus, the one who counts, and remember these great truths:

FEAR – Fear is not from God.  You know where that comes from, from the evil side of the spiritual realm, from that individual who has been a liar from the beginning.

PANIC – That is just an escalation of fear having its way.  Fear and panic in our society right now are evident not just in the general population but especially among some of these talking head leaders that are on television way too often and often just spread uncertainty and more confusion.  Some seem to almost relish giving out wildly out of line projections of how many will be sick when no evidence so far supports that.

HEALING AND HEALTH AND PROTECTION – All those scriptures in the Bible pertaining to divine healing and to God’s protection that I am always writing about and ministering in are just as true now as they always were.  And they apply to coronavirus just as they apply to anything else.

NOTHING IS TOO HARD FOR GOD – Still true.  God made that point himself.

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD – A point made by Jesus and by Gabriel.

BELIEVERS CAN DO THE SAME THINGS JESUS DID – Jesus made that point.

SOME PERHAPS HELPFUL COMMENTS - I know it is troubling and confusing and perhaps angering to listen to all the politicians and all the media talk about this virus and plan all sorts of things.  We see even in this time of national concern the evidence still of individual political priorities coming in, people criticizing and hoping to make political points, and some media and some bureaucrats seemingly easily excitable and wanting to grandstand and project all sorts of things that are just not helpful.  All this is troubling and we must admit that in recent years these people have lost a lot of credibility with the public at large.  Still, we have to realize people are just people.  They are not God, although those who truly know the Lord can operate as he wishes and with the authority the Lord has given each believer.  Believers have the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  Many of those on television you see all the time today focusing on this issue may not know the Lord and they are operating in their humanness.  And people make mistakes.  We all do.

ONE ADDITIONAL PIECE OF ADVICE - We all need to be alert to the actions being taken by the government here and abroad.  Do these actions make sense?  Are they justified?  Only time will tell.  But as this plays out, we need to see that these temporary measures really are temporary and disappear as soon as the disease is basically over.  We don’t need all those big government types, the one-world types, to put in place more harmful controls at a time of real serious concern on the part of the populace when most people are not thinking beyond the disease and how to be safe.

LAST DAYS – And one last area of comment.  Yes, it is true that pestilence is one of the signs of these last days before the Lord returns.  Well, you already knew we were living at the time of his soon return, so no need to be surprised by that.  There are all sorts of strange happenings around the world now, as we have written about in newsletters and other publications for a long time.
In all things at all times keep your eyes on Jesus.  Use the great spiritual gift of discernment that comes with the Holy Spirit to discern the truth in all situations.  Be guided by the Spirit as you go forward.  And live in that great peace and joy that comes with knowing the Lord.  Remember, he overcame the world and in him we do too.  Remember, in him you cast out demons.   And remember above all, that if you are a believer, the Lord is never going to lose you.

SIGN OF THE TIMES: PLAIN TALK

We are living now in the time of massive delusions on the parts of whole groups of people including some famous and prominent ones in positions of great responsibility.  And that is so dangerous to the world and humanity at large.  It is also reflective of the time in which we live.  Scripture tells us that eventually God will send those who refuse to accept the truth (e.g., the truth of the gospel, the truth about Jesus) a delusion.  Is that what is happening?  Certainly that may be the case, although I hope some of the young obviously lost souls we see on the TV and at times in person espousing ridiculous untruths may just be confused because they have never truly heard the truth.  I hope God will indeed reach some of these through us or other means.

But there is no doubt some are indeed deluded and have no excuse.  The Pope for example, who in his actions is working towards a one world government and a one world religion.  His actions are public and there for all to see.  Surely he has read the Bible, has read the book of Revelation.  Surely.   Delusion.  The move to bring in all these lost religions, the move to bring about one-world education, his lost comments such as Christians should not be seeking to convert others – goodness, do you think he ever read the Great Commission?

There are leaders in the Catholic Church who recognize this and speak out.  I just read some words from a Cardinal who basically said what I just wrote above.  Will they be heard by those who consider themselves Catholics?

One great problem of our day as far as belief and faith and being lost and deluded goes is that the majority of those who call themselves by one denomination or another for the most part have never read and studied and meditated on God’s word, let alone sought and received the guidance of the Holy Spirit on what his words mean.  They just don’t know the Word.  They have let and continue to let preachers and priests and others tell them what to think.  And for many denominations that is a prescription for being eternally lost.  In many denominations and thus many brick building churches the hired or appointed preacher or priest never gets into the true great depths of the faith, never gets into the fact that the Holy Spirit is active right now and miracles and healings happen right now today, never gets into the imminent return of the Lord, never gets into all Jesus accomplished, never gets into the true great reality of prayer.  Why? Because many of them don’t know themselves?  Possibly.  Also because the hierarchy of their denomination is just so lost itself and thus provides poor guidance.

Look at the National Council of Churches and the many protestant churches that are members.  They continually speak out against Israel and take action against Israel.  Are they insane?  Well, deluded to be sure.

Look at the Methodist church that is in the process of splitting into two groups because of the great demand of many churches in that denomination to have gay (LGBTQ) preachers and to perform gay marriages.  Yet the Bible is clear on the subject of homosexual behavior.  In Leviticus and Romans and the last page of Revelation.   Clear.  Clear.  Clear.   Not an acceptable behavior.  Will keep a person out of the Kingdom.  Those Methodist churches pushing to approve the things noted above are just lost.  They are not churches of the Lord Jesus are they? No, but neither are so many other churches out there.  And thus the great risk for all those so called Christian believers who attend church on Sundays and let the pastors tell them what to think and spend no time on their own searching out God’s truths and seeking him in prayer.

By the way, the African branch of the Methodist church has been horrified for some time by this impending support of homosexual behavior in the Methodist church.  They will surely be not accepting that position.  Wait….didn’t these African churches result from America and the Methodist church and other churches sending Africa missionaries so long ago?  The pupil has now become the true teacher!  Africa, as well as South America, is sending missionaries to America, in case you do not know.  Australia also is doing that.  Why?  Because so many of the traditional American churches and the Sunday churchgoers in America are lost, lost, lost.

So the Pope is clearly deluded.  Is that true for other famous leaders?  Appears so – in Congress, in Hollywood, certainly in the media.

Let’s take a moment to talk about delusion and illusion.  We all are familiar with the less serious term illusion – that word just relates to a physical condition, something which confuses the senses.  Like the old optical illusion games we all have seen or played.  Like maybe seeing two parallel lines that appear to intersect because of the background, like seeing two doors that appear to be of different sizes but are not because of the way they are drawn.  Illusions are like that.  Magician entertainers live in the world of illusions, doing things that trick us but we know they are not real.

The word delusion is deadly serious.  It refers to what goes on inside a person.  It is mental in nature.  And therein the danger.  People deep in their minds and hearts believe things that are not true and obviously are not true to those who have the gift of discernment and are not confused.  Without some shaking deep in the soul of those people, change will not be forthcoming.  They will not respond to simple logical discussions and arguments.

In the last days God gives those who will not accept the truth a delusion.

Frightening.  Do not think these deluded people out there in positions of authority or in those random and bizarre street demonstrations are not dangerous.  They are.

These are the last days.  Things happen.

In the words of our Lord, Stay alert!  Watch! So that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen.  Pray for protection for yourself and your family and others.  Cast out evil spirits in Jesus’ name.  Seek the continual guidance of the Holy Spirit and apply that great gift of discernment to confusing situations.

One writer on this subject of the last days refers to those believers who know the truth and who seek to educate others as crazy uncles.  In other words, those around do not accept them for what they say.  They are considered crazy, but they are at least still tolerated.   He suggests those crazy uncles, which would be most of us I think who are reading this, just prepare material to be used by all those to be left behind so then hopefully they will read and see the truth and be able to protect themselves in the terrible seven year tribulation.  He apparently may have given up on our influencing others to believe and see now.  I am not yet at that point, but I do see how hard headed and lost the mass of the people are.

May God have mercy on us all.

SIGN OF THE TIMES: LIVING AND SURVIVING IN THE MIDST OF ABSOLUTE EVIL

Absolute evil.  That is what we are seeing so blatantly in America today.  Of course, most believers in Jesus have recognized evil all about in this world on an on-going basis.  And probably most nonbelievers surely see some aspects of evil.  But overall the secular world just doesn’t comprehend it or understand it.

Attempting to explain the horrible violence such as happened in El Paso and Dayton, various politicians and media reporters focus on gun control again and again or look into individual problems like mental illness.  Or drugs.  Or just turn to such catchall phrases as racism.  The fact remains, what we are seeing is a very visible, undeniable display of out and out plain absolute evil in all its perverted glory.

The mayor of El Paso got it right in an interview when he described what had happened as absolute evil.  That’s it.

The devil is running amok these days.  His time is limited.  We are nearing the end. 

So many who do not know Jesus are easy prey for his talents.  Remember, he is the father of lies        (John 8.44).  People who do not know about the spiritual realm and about how to use God’s tools for protecting themselves have no defense against the wiles of the evil one.  No unbeliever can stand against demons and evil spirits and most certainly against the devil.  No believer can either, except by standing in Jesus, by exercising faith and using the tools God has provided.

Look at how empty unbelievers are:

·         They don’t know God has sent his ministering spirits – his angels – to serve those who will inherit salvation.  That service certainly includes protection. (See Hebrews 1:14). 

·         And they don’t know about all the protective armor God has given us as described by Paul in Ephesians 6.

·         They don’t know that a true believer in Jesus can, in Jesus’ name, cast out evil spirits, as Jesus said in Mark 16:17. 

·         And they don’t know that a born again, spirit filled believer can discern spirits, can discern when there is danger about, can discern which way to go.  The gifts of the Spirit, the extraordinary guidance of the Spirit, are of indescribable value to the born again, Spirit filled believer (see John 14-16; 1 Corinthians 12, 14).

So many things God has done to equip the believer.  So much he has for us. 

And you as a believer, a born-again, Spirit-filled believer, have those skills and can take advantage of all this in this world.

These are the last of the last days.  As the angel said to Daniel in the last chapter of the book of Daniel in the Bible, the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.(Daniel 12:10).

True believers operating in the gifts know what is happening.  They can take action.  And they keep their eyes on Jesus. 

KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS.

HE IS YOUR ONLY HOPE.

ONE MORE TIME.  HE IS YOUR ONLY HOPE.

Those killers in El Paso and Dayton did not know Jesus.  They did not know his limitless love, his forgiveness, his caring.  They did not know his and the Holy Spirit’s and God the Father’s guidance for life.  They did not know the words of the Bible are true and real and full of life.  They did not know there is more to life than what they were experiencing, more than the great darkness and loneliness and emptiness. But they did know this – they knew the devil, whether they recognized him or not.  They knew darkness, they knew evil, they knew the direction of the evil forces.  And they acted on that. 

The devil is real.  So too demons and evil spirits.  But God is far more powerful.  Everything ever made is under Jesus’ feet.  In him, we can prevail.  Do that.  Prevail.

Remember again what I am always saying – be alert, be ready for the Lord to come.  In his words to me years ago, be alert, pray for the lost, seek him with all your heart.

A WATCHMAN WARNING: THE MAHDI - DO IRAN’S ACTIONS MEAN MORE THAN MOST REALIZE?

All of us have seen over recent days and past years how the leaders of Iran have steadily ratcheted up the conflict between Iran and the US and the rest of the West.  Considering the difference in size and physical might, this seems highly irrational.  Yet it continues, with the recent shooting down of an American drone and the seizing of a UK ship and the holding of the ship’s crew.  Iran continues as a constant threat to the world regarding its potential development of nuclear weapons.  As is well known, Iran is the key state sponsor of terrorism throughout the Middle East. 

I now suggest what very likely is going on.  Some of you may know this already.

Much of Islam believes in a return of a person called the Mahdi, also referred to by some as the twelfth Iman.  It is said this Mahdi was born many years ago – in the 800’s – but disappeared.  When this Mahdi returns he will bring justice and peace.  There is much more to the story but I am focusing only on the key points as it relates to us and our time.  The Mahdi is said to return with “Jesus.”  Remember, that Jesus is a figure in Islam, not Jesus the Son of God that Christian believers know.

Now consider these important points:

·        Most important: The Mahdi returns at a time of great upheaval, of chaos, of injustice, of corruption.

·        The great majority of the Shiite Muslims believe in this Mahdi.  (Islam has two major groups – Shiite and Sunni).  So too do some Sunni Muslims.

·        Iran is a Shiite Islamic Republic, a Muslim nation with most citizens being Shiites.

·        A majority of these Shiites are Twelvers – they believe in this Mahdi, this twelfth Iman.  The founder of modern Iran was in this group.  So too the current Supreme Leader there.

So is this fervent belief a cause for the nation’s leaders to take really extreme risks for their country, to put themselves in an adversarial position against the world’s greatest nation and Western civilization in general?  Is it possible Iran’s top leaders see themselves as paving the way for the return of this Mahdi?  A former president of Iran – Ahmadinejad – said a few years ago at the United Nations that the main mission of the Islamic Revolution is to pave the way for the reappearance of the 12th Imam.

Thus is it possible that creating world or regional chaos, even bringing about massive war and confusion, is something the top religious leaders who run Iran would see as a positive thing - creating the environment for the return of the Mahdi?

I know this is not a new idea, but it may be new to some of you, and I thought I should send it out, especially noting the events of the day.

In light of all the above, I have a warning for all:  This is a time for all of us to be alert, to watch, as our Lord Jesus said, so that we might be ready to go when he returns.  Luke 21:36 is specific to this.  Be alert.

*SIGN OF THE TIMES: LIVING IN THE MIDST OF THE WAR

We live in the midst of an enormous spiritual war, a war between good and evil, between Satan and all his followers and the forces of God.

 

This spiritual war has always impacted our physical world, sometimes dramatically so such as WWII (Hitler and the Nazis).  It has grown dramatically on earth in our day.  This battle involves people of all sorts.  There are good people fighting on the side of good in all races, all economic levels, all nationalities.  And there are bad people fighting on the evil side in all races, all nationalities, all economic levels.

This war only gets worse as we head for the end of these last days, the return of Jesus to collect his believers, the Tribulation, the battle at Armageddon, and the establishment of Kingdom rule from Jerusalem and the beginning of the thousand years.

The large group of people out there that appear so insane and irrational to you and me really are horribly misled – but their behavior is due to demonic influences, the evil one and his minions running amuck.   How often today do we hear politicians and reporters and entertainers calling good evil and evil good?  How often do we see and hear militant groups justifying their outrageous and violent behavior with insane explanations, or even not justifying it at all?  And we know what God says about all this: 

Woe to those who call evil good
    and good evil,
who put darkness for light
    and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
    and sweet for bitter! – Isaiah 5:20 NIV

Born again, spirit-filled Christians can discern the truth of what is going on if they use the Holy Spirit gift of discernment.  But others can’t, at least not usually. Unfortunately there are a great many more people out there who are not born again, spirit-filled Christians than there are in the born again, spirit-filled group.

Obviously our battle really is against the evil spirits, as Paul pointed out when he said:  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12 NIV).  But sadly the evil is manifesting through these lost, misled people, and those on the side of good must protect themselves against this behavior and them and take all wise steps to confront and stop this evil.

And thus it goes.

This is where we are and the environment on earth in which we all find ourselves.  Keep your eyes on Jesus, focus, protect yourselves with the tools God gives us such as putting on the armor, the protection of the angels God has sent us, and the casting out of evil spirits in Jesus’ name as Jesus has said we can do. 

In these last days do your part to get the truths of Jesus and his imminent return out to all you can.  Talk to others about all this, ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and to arrange divine encounters.  Give people copies of our book WAKE UP AMERICA!  That is a nonthreatening thing you can do.  They can read it in their own homes by themselves.

All this will eventually end.  But as of this writing it hasn’t.

* EVIL

…He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. – John 8:44 NIV

Please note:  he was a murderer from the beginning.  Yes, he is a liar and the father of lies, but he also was a murderer from the beginning.

Evil is and has been very real in the world of homo sapiens ever since Eve encountered the devil in the Garden of Eden.

The devil himself, also known as satan and lucifer and the evil one, was as we know from scripture a very important high ranking angel.  And a very beautiful one.  And obviously a very proud one, for he decided to rebel against God and in doing so led many many angels to join him.

His fate is sealed.  In these very days in which we live, he knows his time is exceedingly short.  At the end of the Tribulation period when the Lord leads an army of his holy ones into the battle of Armageddon, the devil is seized and locked in a deep pit for a thousand years.  That is going to happen pretty soon now, and you can be assured the devil knows all those prophecies in the Bible about these last days.  Nothing says he is stupid; just vain and proud and crazily ambitious.  You know he has read the Bible.

In these last days he and those who follow him are wreaking all sorts of havoc.  They are active throughout the earth sowing discord and lies and leading all sorts of terrible things to happen.  How else can you explain ISIS, or Al Qaida, or Boko Haran, or any of the other violent terrorist groups?  How can you explain the massive growth of horrible drugs and their impact on humanity?  How all those millions who blindly follow false gods and doctrine?  How else these maniacal leaders we see in so many places.  And on and on.

These people do not know God, they have not been born again, they do not know scripture, they cannot protect themselves from the attacks and false leading of the devil and his minions.  Any lost person who does not know the Lord is a ready subject for the plans of satan.  The Bible advises us not to give the devil an opening, a foothold.  But anyone who does not know the Lord has given the devil his entire body as an opening, a foothold.

That’s what we have now.  That’s what we see in these evil and apparently blind or ignorant groups operating in such outrageous ways.

And that is what happens to individuals who suddenly in the world’s analysis must have cracked up, or must have a screw loose, or must be under the influence, or must be just plain nuts.  Well, part of that is true.  They are under the influence…of the devil.  That influence may come directly or through illicit drugs or other openings.  But these sad people have no way to defend themselves.  They don’t know the truths we have written about regarding God’s tools for protecting ourselves.

Remember, all you believers, as spelled out in Ephesians 6:12, our battle is not really against flesh and blood.  And we do not use the weapons of the world but rather spiritual weapons to fight with.  Paul was explicit about this in 2 Corinthians 10:3-7.

There really is evil.  It has been here as long as this human species.  It is active now.  It has been active in the past to be sure.  Remember Hitler and the Nazis and the gas ovens?  Remember Stalin?  Remember…well, ugh, who wants to recount all the horrors of human existence.  Not me.

That man who shot all those people in Las Vegas.  Think he was evil?  Certainly he was under the influence of evil.  To be sure.  Influence of what?  Of the devil.  Doesn’t matter what human terms are used to explain it all.  They are pointless.

This is the effect of real evil.  It is the same evil some of our military have encountered in fighting in the Middle East and unfortunately are not prepared to deal with.  The same evil no doubt that some others hoping to do good encounter when they go to desperate places.  Unless they are born again and baptized in the Spirit, they don’t have the gifts, the skills to discern and recognize and take appropriate action.

Evil is real.  It has always been thus for the human society.  Thank God, it does not win in the end.  But it does provide a lot of horror and pain along the way to that end.
