SIGN OF THE TIMES: HOW DO I GET HOME?

Home.

Well, what is home? The house where you grew up? The apartment? Lots of people have moved so often there is no real such home like that.

Besides, that is just a building. A place.

What is home – It’s where you belong. It’s a place of peace, of joy. A place you know you were always supposed to be. According to Robert Frost, it is a place that, when you go there, they have to take you in.

There is only one true home for all humans, one real home. And that is with the Creator – with God the Father, with Jesus. Home.

But the only people who get to go to that home are believers in Jesus. Those who have been born anew and have Jesus as their Lord.

All the others? There is a place they are heading, but it is not the home I just described. Nope. Unless they change what they are doing, repent, and ask Jesus to be their Lord, they are heading to their ultimate lasting place, the Lake of Fire. More popularly known as Hell. There they will be with like-minded people and with the devil, the antichrist, and the false prophet for eternity.

Right now the overwhelming majority of people on earth are headed for that terrible eternal place. Things can always change of course. The only reason Jesus has not yet come no doubt is because the Father is still working to draw people to Jesus, to salvation. But I haven’t seen any great signs there will be a huge number of the population suddenly shifting their fundamental behavior and beliefs and becoming true born again believers in Jesus. Still, I pray that would happen. We certainly work to tell people who Jesus is and that he is coming soon. And huge numbers around the world have come to our short videos on this subject. We will continue to work for more and more to be in the Kingdom, to help God the Father in his drawing them, to be a battle ax for an end time revival as the Lord has called us.

Most people live in a stupor. Most don’t realize to be honest that God is real, Jesus is real, the Holy Spirit is real, the Bible is true, the devil is real, angels are real, demons are real, divine healings and miracles are real too and happen now in our day. That is how I often started healing services – walking out and saying something like that.

It is all about faith and belief in Jesus. He is the only way to God. Most people don’t have that. Or they have some kind of intellectual faith in the wrong thing, like these terrible false religions like Islam or other things. Or they perhaps do go so far as to attend a church on Sunday and maybe they even know some Jesus stories, but they never have come to grips with the truth that Jesus is real and alive right now, that miracles happen right now, that they can live in the presence of God right now and be guided by God right now. They have never been born anew and do not have Jesus truly as the Lord of their lives. And so they are lost too.

When the Lord collects his true believers very soon, that will be an earth-shaking, gut-wrenching moment to all left on earth, a moment like nothing ever before. No doubt the lost governments will try to cover this up with some type of explanation, such as UFO’s taking the people away. But whatever the explanation offered and how ever many are taken away, it will be undeniable that many people – including the most moral in society – have been taken away. The ensuing period will be terrible. Those who are left behind but do know some of the Jesus stories and maybe have a Bible will be the best off, for they should be able to realize what has happened. And they should be doing their best to repent, to receive Jesus as their Lord, to get into the Kingdom. Those hundreds of millions on earth in the false religions will have to rely on information they can find on the Internet, in bookstores, in church buildings, in homes of departed believers...if they even know what to look for. Maybe they can watch our videos for a while and read our writings as long as they are posted, and maybe they can do that for many other ministries.

Going home. I am ready to go home. The believers I talk to are ready to go home. They want to see Jesus come now. They know that only God can lead people to Jesus, that they can do all they can to help in that, but that in the end he is the one who leads. And each person seriously must ask Jesus to be their Lord.

Although believers hope and prefer their lost friends and family come to have Jesus as their Lord now, they do know these lost people will have a second chance to come to Jesus during the Tribulation Period, even though that time will be horrible. Remember, John the disciple saw huge numbers of “Tribulation saints” in heaven in Revelation.

Home. Believers are just about there. Make sure as Jesus advised that you watch! And that you pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man (See Luke 21:36). Stay in the right relationship with Jesus! Don’t allow yourself to drift away, to get so caught up in all the angst and turmoil and evil of this rapidly falling world in which you currently live.

Home is not far away.

* SIGN OF THE TIMES: THANKFUL

For this Thanksgiving, all believers should BE THANKFUL…

That you know Jesus
That Jesus knows you
That you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus
That you will be going with him when he returns to collect his believers
That you will soon be getting that glorious new body
That you will return to earth with Jesus at the end of the Tribulation as part of his holy ones
That you will in some way be involved in the establishment and operation of the Kingdom of God government from Jerusalem after Armageddon

Be sure to ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and to orchestrate all the discussions with family and friends!

We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

*WATCHMAN WARNING! : Who are those who never get into the Kingdom of Heaven, never get into the New Jerusalem?

Focus on these words from the very last chapter of the Bible:

Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. – Revelation 22:15

These are the Lord’s own words in the last chapter of the Bible.

Except for the word “dogs,” these words are pretty clear to our modern day. That word “dogs” refers in the original Greek to ungodly people with impure minds living in immoral ways.

Jesus does not mince words. He was crystal clear in the gospels about what it takes to be in the Kingdom of God (to be saved), about how many do not find the way, about how even some people who say they have done great works in his name may not be known by him and will be ordered away. He talked to Nicodemus about the need for a person to be born anew – born of water and the Spirit. He talked later in the same chapter emphasizing the phrase “believe in him.” Elsewhere he spoke of the need to do the Father’s will. And of the need to be like little children, e.g., to have that innocent true faith of little children. Paul in his words said a person must confess Jesus is their Lord and believe in their heart that God raised him from the dead.

Now here at the very end of the Bible we see Jesus saying flatly these are those who are outside.

Ultimately, you are responsible for your own relationship with Jesus. No one else can handle that for you. Parents, friends, ministers can help along the way, but in the end it is you and Jesus.

And as possible you certainly should do all you can and all you are led by the Holy Spirit to do in helping God the Father lead others to Jesus – your family members, work associates, neighbors, and so many more. The fact remains, as Jesus said himself, no one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws that person. We of course do not know who the Father will draw, but we surely can pray and ask the Father to draw specific people to Jesus. And we can do our part in getting the message out about Jesus, about who he is, and about his imminent return.

SIGN OF THESE TIMES AND ALL TIME: IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS

It really is.

About your relationship with him, about your being born anew, about your being filled with and baptized with the Holy Spirit, about your doing God’s will, about your being like little children in your sincere and innocent childlike faith in the Lord.

There is no other way to heaven, no other way to being in the Kingdom of God, no other way to a good eternity, no other way to salvation from an eternity in the lake of fire, in a hell that defies comprehension.

It is not about which denomination or church you are part of, or whether you are part of one at all.

It is not about whether you read a responsive reading with the church pastor on Sunday or attend a liturgical church or not.

It is not about whether you stand and recite in rote some creed, whether a long-standing historical one or one recently written by your pastor.

It is not about singing classical old hymns, or modern worship music, or being immersed in praise music.

It is not about whether the clergy wear fancy formal robes and decorations and proceed ever so formally in the service or whether they wear blue jeans and have an informal service.

It is not about whether the congregation is solemn and stern or joyful and relaxed.

Once again, it is about this:

IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS… AND YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM

* SIGN OF THE TIMES: THE LONGING OF THE HEART

In his poem “Death of the Hired Man” Robert Frost wrote these wonderful lines about “home:”

“Home is the place where, when you go there, they have to take you in”

“I should have called it something you somehow haven’t to deserve.”

They are spectacular sentences, the type only great poets seem to be able to construct. But I say to you, these two sentences are marvelous descriptions of the true believer in Jesus Christ and their ultimate destination – being with Jesus and the Father.

Home – Heaven – The Kingdom of God. All the same thing for a believer. The one true home.

For the true believer Heaven is the place where when he goes there they have to take him in. That is part of the deal. It is something he doesn’t deserve, but he gets in anyway because of the wonderful action of the Lord Jesus Christ in going to and through the cross and earning God’s forgiveness for us. He gets in because of God’s grace.

Some years ago I wrote the following poem. It has been published more than once, and I again include it for you today. It reflects reality for the true believer in the Lord.

WE ARE NEVER HOME

We are never home.

Not now. Not here.

No matter how we try.

We cannot get there.

The moments of joy

Family and friends bring

Cannot dispel

The longing of our hearts.

Harsh though the words,

God’s children are

Strangers in a foreign land,

Aliens on planet earth.

This is not our world.

But we will soon be home,

That we know.

Our hope is secure.

More and more, increasingly, we are strangers in this bizarre world in which we find ourselves physically living. But have faith. We won’t be here much longer.

* JESUS AND HIS GOVERNMENT AND ALL HE IS DOING

“‘Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven. – Matthew 6:9-10 NIV

the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end. – Isaiah 9:6-7 NIV

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. – Luke 2:14 KJV

For four thousand years following the fateful decision by Adam and Eve to disobey God and their then being thrown out of the Garden of Eden, humankind was lost. The Kingdom of God was not on earth. Only through a rare few individuals known as prophets did God intercede and speak to people, prophets like Elijah and Isaiah. God in that period was working on a plan to reconcile people to himself. We’ve looked at this much in past years, how he spoke to people through these prophets, how he chose the Jews as the people to take the message, the history of the Jews, the receiving of God’s word, how eventually God’s plan was fulfilled in the wonderful coming and actions of Jesus Christ, his son and our savior.

Jesus made the point he came to preach the Kingdom of God. That was why he came, he said. His going to the cross and doing what he did made that Kingdom real and available for all who accepted Jesus as their savior.

That Kingdom in our current time on earth is inside each believer in Jesus Christ. It is here on earth, but only inside us. So wherever we believers go, we take the Kingdom of God with us. We walk into a room, God comes into that room, regardless of however anyone else in the room thinks or believes. Putting on the armor of God described by Paul, our feet are shod with the gospel of peace. We take God’s peace with us. And his truth. And his righteousness.

But God’s total plan of reconciliation is yet not over! It continues. Soon, so very soon, so incredibly soon, the Lord will return to collect his believers:

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.–1 Thess. 4:16-17 KJV

In just a few years after that, about seven or a little more, he comes back with his holy ones (the angels and the believers) to win a victory at Armageddon over his enemies and to establish his Kingdom rule from Jerusalem. (Revelation 19 and 20).

Then the Kingdom of God will truly be on earth in a physical way, as well as inside the believers!

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
