* Our Must-Read Christmas Story - CLEMENTINES

 

Almost every year we publish a wonderful true story of an event in our lives many years ago.  This year I asked Cathy if we should publish it again, noting that most of our readers have read this in the past.  Cathy replied, “It’s almost a tradition with us.”  And yes it is.  So here again is a very personal wonderful Christmas miracle God did in our lives, showing yet again what an amazing loving God we have.

 

 

CLEMENTINES

 

God loves us. He really, really does. That’s a key part of the Christmas message. Why else would He ever have sent His son here to go through what he went through? And why else would Jesus ever have willingly gone to the cross? 

 

I was reminded of that this past weekend in a way only God can arrange. Sunday afternoon a friend was coming to visit us at home. Late in the afternoon the doorbell rang, and I opened the door. There stood our friend, holding out a box of clementines. For those of you who do not know, clementines are small citrus fruit, like small oranges, and they seem to make an appearance in grocery stores about this time of year. They come in small but clearly distinct boxes. 

 

Our friend handed me this box of clementines. “God told me to get this for you,” she said. And she went on, exclaiming that God was very specific and strong about it. “So I went into a grocery store and I couldn’t find them. I thought that I would just get a poinsettia, but well, God said to get clementines.” So she stuck with her search, and she found them. Later in the kitchen she spoke with Cathy and asked if clementines were my favorite. Our friend couldn’t get over how insistent God had been. 

 

Later I thought more about this. I remembered how as my children grew up we would always get a box of clementines sometime around Christmas. It was a regular feature in our house. The box could always be found sitting somewhere in the kitchen. Everyone liked them. To this day when I see a display of clementines in a store, I want to buy a box. 

 

And I thought some more. Here we are in the ministry involved in our usual activities and praying for guidance from God on key issues, like where and how to proceed in the expensive television ministry, where and what meetings to arrange, whether to begin another regular meeting in southeastern NC, and more. For months, even years, we have been going steadily forward, always fighting and overcoming attacks of the evil one which do come whenever anyone steps out for God. Into the midst of all that God sent an obedient woman friend to bring a box of clementines. Even when I write this the Holy Spirit is so strong in the office I keep stopping and reflecting. Is that love? Yes! And much more. That is God saying - John, even in the midst of all this, I’m still here, and I love you, and look, I even know little things about you, like how you like a box of clementines and what that means to you. 

 

So I've been feeling really warm ever since. God sent me a box of clementines for Christmas. God knows where you are and what you’re going through. He knows every hair on your head. Every day, if we’ll just look around and take time to see with spiritual eyes, we’ll see God directing our paths. 

 

What a heavenly Father we have!

* SIGN OF THE TIMES: HUMANITY'S GREAT PROBLEM AND OUR GREAT JOY

  

The problem for much of humanity is “yes I am coming soon.”  That is Jesus speaking at the very end of the Bible.  Yes, he is coming soon.  He has told me that many times since he told me to “tell them who I am and that I am coming soon.” 

 

When he first comes he collects his true believers and takes them with him.  That is known as the rapture.  And a terrible time known as the Tribulation ensues.  The great problem for all those who do not know him and do not have him as their Lord is that they will not be going with him and will have to endure that Tribulation…and eventually eternity in the Lake of Fire.  That is a really great problem right now – for them!  Unless they soon realize who Jesus is and become true believers, their future is dark.

 

For believers, our great joy is Jesus and that we will be going with him.  And right now we are at the most joyous time of the year, Christmas!  We are looking for joy and peace and happiness more perhaps than ever this year.  We need the peace of Jesus, the peace that passes all understanding.  And the joy that comes with knowing him.

 

Most of you may remember my writing some years ago about the time when Cathy and I were sitting in a church service on Christmas Eve.  It was really a warm, precious service, one we attended as often as possible when we were in the area of this church.  As the program went forward, at one point very clearly I heard the Lord speak to me.  He said, “These people are singing about my birth, and here I am coming soon.”  

 

We still are singing about his birth, and we should forever.  But indeed he is coming soon.  He is not a baby in the stable.  He is also no longer walking the earth as the most astounding teacher and preacher and healer and prophet the world has ever seen.  And he is not on the cross taking upon himself everything that separated people from God, all our sins, sicknesses, diseases, and pains and more.  No, all that was done almost two thousand years ago.

 

Where is Jesus now?  At the right hand of his father.  He is the King of the Kingdom of God.  And time is up for this human age.  He is preparing to return very soon, and he is returning as the King and the head of government.  Remember these wonderful words from Isaiah 9:6-7:

 

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace

 

Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.

 

The joy of his birth is ours!  And the joy of his coming soon is ours too!  A king is coming.  The King of all kings. Jesus Christ.

* HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

  

I thought at this time and in the current environment it might be good again to look at some of the history of this holiday in America. 

 

Throughout the 1700’s individual colonies held periodic days or times of thanksgiving.  Thomas Jefferson did this while governor of Virginia.

 

In 1777 right in the middle of the Revolutionary War the Colonial Congress recommended a day of thanksgiving.

 

In 1789, the first year of the first presidency of the US under the new Constitution, George Washington issued a proclamation establishing a day of thanksgiving that year.  Here are a few of his words from the proclamation:

• it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favour…
• I do recommend and assign THURSDAY, the TWENTY-SIXTH DAY of NOVEMBER next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be…
• we may … unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions

Abraham Lincoln finally established legally the annual holiday we observe on the fourth Thursday of November each year.  Here are a few words from his proclamation:

• I do …invite my fellow citizens …to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.

George Washington and Abraham Lincoln and others establishing such days in our history had no difficulty understanding who the thanksgiving is to.  It is to God.  We all know that too and we certainly give thanks to him daily.  But Thanksgiving Day is of course a special recognized day nationally for giving this thanks!

* SIGN OF THE TIMES: YOU ARE THERE!

And when you see all these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your head, for your redemption draws near.  (Luke 21:28)

 

Yes, we are there.  Or rather, we are here.  It is in our time.  It is now.

 

Many decades ago, there was a famous news announcer – Walter Cronkite – who had a program titled “YOU ARE THERE” or something like that.  I expect very few now alive ever saw it.  Anyway, the program would take the viewer to a historical scene being played out on the screen, and it was as if the viewer were right there – at the time Columbus discovers America, or the light bulb is invented, or Lincoln is shot.  You get the idea.

 

Well, we really are there right now at the most important event since the coming of Jesus two thousand years ago and his eventual going to and through the cross.

 

It will soon happen.  I know all readers would like me to say the date it will happen, but I can’t do that.  Even Jesus did not know the day when he was on earth.  But based on all that is happening, we can see clearly that day is coming into clear focus.

 

All those fulfilled prophecies.  I am so sorry that so many churches and pastors do not teach any of those prophecies or the return of the Lord.  The people attending them will be so surprised and shocked.  The end of the book is approaching.  They just never took it all that seriously.  Or they never made it to the point of truly knowing the Lord.  And surely they never got to the point of being filled with and guided by the Holy Spirit.  He would not have let them miss the point, the end of the age.

 

In our book WAKE UP AMERICA we wrote of so many of the major prophecies that have been fulfilled in our lifetimes.  And right now we see all those natural disasters Jesus warned about – the pestilence (“covid”), the storms, the earthquakes, the nation against nation, and so on.  And right now we clearly see being formed the coalition of countries that will soon invade Israel and be stopped by God himself.  You can read all about it in Ezekiel 38 and 39.  The countries identified there are getting closer together – Russia, Persia (Iran and Afghanistan), Turkey, and more.  The US more and more backs away from the support of Israel.  As I have written before, expect that war to take place after we believers have been gathered together by Jesus in the coming rapture.

 

So many people – including some misguided pastors – have thought the end times scriptures in the Bible, including the book of Revelation, are just symbolic.  They will soon be finding out how very accurate the Bible is.  That wonderful book exists on many levels.  That living book reveals more and more to those who spend time reading and searching it and asking the Holy Spirit’s guidance in their understanding.  But one thing is true – it is true right on its surface.  The first level.

 

Do you know that many of the great historical events of the Bible that we know are true and happened were once believed by many to be just stories, allegories?  But then archeologists with their great work found evidence over and over again, and ancient Biblical scrolls were discovered.  Names were uncovered.  So we know David and Solomon really lived and were those great kings, for example.  We’ve found Pilate’s name inscribed on stone.

 

Some people who truly know the Lord will go with him.  Then shortly will begin the seven year Tribulation.  Most people will experience that Tribulation, sadly, for they do not know the Lord.  Some perhaps will be led to seek and discover the Lord even during that terrible time and will be known as Tribulation saints.  And the end of that period will find the Lord quickly killing his enemies, the devil being thrown into a pit that is locked, and the antichrist and the false prophet being thrown into the Lake of Fire.  And Kingdom rule will begin from Jerusalem.

 

Isn’t it amazing that YOU ARE THERE!  We are here when Jesus returns to collect his believers!

 

As I recently quoted Ruth Graham, if God doesn’t punish America, he is going to have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.  Well, God is going to punish America, to judge it…and the whole world as well.  We don’t know what the thousand years after Kingdom rule is established in Jerusalem will look like.  But we will soon find out.

WATCHMAN WARNING! - THE SPIRITUAL WAR

  

We are living in a spiritual war that for humankind has been going on since the fall of Adam and Eve.  That war is reaching its culmination.  It is almost over.

 

Although I don’t usually if ever get this specific, let me now.  This battle is between the leader of the evil side, Lucifer – also known as Satan, the devil, the evil one – together with his followers against God and his Kingdom.  We know who wins, don’t we?  God does.  Jesus does.  The Kingdom of God eventually takes up rule from Jerusalem.

 

This atrocious war is reaching a climax on the physical planet earth in our day.  Yes, it exists on two fronts – in the spiritual realm and in the physical realm where we live, where the evil forces of the devil have been making startling headway in recent years.

 

The current government of the US – the administration in Washington, the congress, all the bureaucracies and institutions there – by their very actions are bringing to our minds the thing the founding fathers feared and dreaded.  What is that?  That a democracy might not work.  That leaving the choice of leaders in the hands of the people might be a mistake.

 

Up to now the people and the country have proved that fear wrong, and many other nations and peoples have sought to copy the US.  But not now.

 

One bad decision after another is happening in Washington.  The administration seems bent on destroying the country completely, both internally and in the eyes of other nations.  And the leaders of congress seem to be focused on anything other than things that might help.  It does appear the American people have turned their nation over to confused, evil, bad, and incompetent people. 

 

Just recently a former president in his penchant for bold statements, declared the US would not survive three more years.  It is hard to argue with him.  Other people are writing of how the nation is coming apart at the seams.

 

Well, you and I know that I generally focus on the spiritual side of things, and the fact that we are in the last of the last days before the Lord’s return is a point I make over and over.  But that does not mean we should just quit trying to improve life on earth.  And certainly we should not stop trying to help in God’s leading others to a saving knowledge of Jesus.

 

I would think we all want Jesus to find us – when he comes – fully occupied in doing the work he has given us.  What work?  Whatever he has told you directly and certainly his statements in the Bible.  For instance, telling others about the gospel.  Preaching/teaching/sharing the good news.  Healing the sick.  Casting out demons. 

 

And standing up against evil!!!! He gave us the authority to cast out evil spirits, and we need to do that on a daily basis.  What do you think you are seeing happen in Washington and in the national media and in business leaders and entertainment?  Lots and lots of evidence of the actions of absolute evil.  Many of the people in these top positions are pretty obviously ungodly people.  If there are some strong believers in Washington, they are pretty much invisible right now.

 

Daily we see prominent leaders from the president on down call good evil and evil good.  They fail to recognize the absurdity of many of their actions.  They are living in the delusion that I have written about so much in recent years.  The point is made in Thessalonians that eventually God gives people who refuse to accept or recognize the truth (e.g., the gospel) a spirit of delusion.  That has to be the explanation for what we are seeing.  Deluded people.  Confused people.  People who do not know the Lord and do not know how to protect themselves spiritually being led astray by the evil one and his minions.

 

The devil knows his days are numbered.  He knows the end of the book.  And he is working feverishly to bring about the one-world government we have talked about.  Look at all that is happening.  Amazing.  The world is moving steadily to that one-world government. 

 

Spiritually, as Christians know, the evil one – the devil – is running amuck.  He knows the Bible.  HE knows these are his last days before he is seized at Armageddon and thrown into a pit.  His lieutenant, the antichrist, is soon to be revealed.  This individual, with assistance from the false prophet, will work to put together and run a one-world government, an ungodly government with a false universal religion.  There are basic requirements in his government, such as everyone having a mark on their hand or head to allow them to participate in the marketplace.  This is one reason why the current covid vaccine with government mandates frightened so many – they saw all this as a precursor of this mark.  Some may have even mistakenly thought it was the mark.

 

I did note recently that Andrew Wommack, one of my favorite ministers who did pray for Cathy and me several times when we started our ministry, has with some others started an organization called Truth and Liberty to try to get serious Christian believers into government.  Good to see such an effort.  We need more of this.  Maybe you should search for that on the Internet and see what they are doing.

 

I just want you all to know how dire the situation currently is for the US and the world.  Now some of us expected such as this in the last days.  But I don’t think all Christians did.  I think some just thought that at some point Jesus would come back, not that he would be coming back in such a terrible time.  But the Bible is pretty clear of the times and what would be happening.  Jesus was clear.  Paul was clear.

 

Always, my closing point:  Keep your eye on Jesus.  And be about the Lord’s work.  You have joy and peace all these other people do not have.  So do your best to carry forward the work of the Lord and the Kingdom and to represent Jesus on earth in really trying situations.

WATCHMAN WARNING! GROSS INSANITY: THE ACTIONS AND BEHAVIOR OF THE US GOVERNMENT IN THE LAST DAYS

  

Surely you all can recognize and see what is happening.  The decisions and actions of the government have gone way over the edge.  Things are truly falling apart.  The nation is being led by delusional persons who deal in deception, whether they even understand the deception or not.

 

The Bible’s famous phrase about calling evil good and good evil has come to full reality in our day.

 

Over and over again I have written of all that is happening and how it is all in line with fulfillment of the Biblical prophecies of the last days.  Each day and week that passes brings another action or absurdity that fits right in. 

 

Today I just read how the government is requiring each of the border patrol officers to have the covid vaccine.  All at the same time that thousands and thousands of illegal immigrants openly enter the country, camp out, and move on to various parts of America with no vaccines.  It is impossible to overstate how insane this is.

 

Yesterday we witnessed top military leaders testify before the senate how they recommended a few thousand of our military be left in Afghanistan after our withdrawal, and even how if that were not done the Afghan military would be overcome.  The point was made that the president surely had these recommendations.  Yet he did not follow them and the withdrawal was a disaster in full view of the entire world.

 

Right now as we speak Americans and Afghan allies are in Afghanistan, hiding out, trying to survive and figure a way out.  The horrible Taliban is in charge.  We all know – at least all adults who can think and read know – how horrible and medieval that group is.  Already they have started schools again, but this time with no girls attending.  Recently a woman policeman was killed in front of her family.  And a folk musician was killed because the Taliban does not like music (a representative said music is forbidden in Islam)..  A couple days ago I saw they were putting up a dead body for public view in Kabul and had three more to put up elsewhere.

 

These are godless, lost people under the direction of the evil one, terrible people.  If this were the time of Moses and Joshua leading the Israelites from Egypt and through the wilderness to the Promised Land, I would expect the Taliban to be a tribe God would have instructed them to completely destroy.  Like the battle of Jericho where the Israelites destroyed everything – not only the people but the animals even.  He did not want the evil spirits there coming back to the Israelites.  This is fundamental evil playing out through human beings.

 

Our leaders in the US are lost people.  And they are making horribly harmful decisions.  I know these are the last days and we all expect the Lord to come very soon, but surely we did not want the place we live to fall completely into mad, lawless, insane society.  But of course we were warned of the conditions of our time.  Jesus told us how bad they would be.  Paul told us of these times. 

 

Each of us as possible must represent the Lord with others in all our encounters.  Ask the Holy Spirit to set up whatever divine encounters he will and to guide you in those.

 

I do see that a few in the country are working to put together organizations to elect new leaders in future elections in the country.  Andrew Womack, certainly a godly minister who has influenced many including Cathy and me, has with others formed a Truth and Liberty organization to try to get better people elected.  But it is more than a year before any new people could take office in congress and more than three years before a new president and administration could take office.  Will the country be surviving in any tolerable condition by then?  Look at all the terrible decisions and actions that have occurred in just the short period since January 20.

 

I have written before of how America went off the spiritual cliff back in 2015 when the Supreme Court ruled to approve homosexual marriage.  Just in the last week I read another Christian writer who said that on January 20 of this year the shining light that was America went out.  Those are dramatic ways to make a point, but it is surely true that no longer can our allies trust America and that people throughout the world must look with amazement and wonder on all that is happening here. (Perhaps we now have an illustration of how the system in the United Kingdom and other parliamentary governments possibly may be preferable to the American one – with a vote of no confidence in parliament, a new election leading to a new prime minister can be held quickly at any time.).

 

KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS IN ALL THINGS!  Stay focused.  Seek to hear and receive all the Holy Spirit has for you.  If you do not know the Holy Spirit, seek to be filled and baptized with him.  His guidance in all truth, his telling of what is to come, his great gift of discernment which you can use to determine the truth in all situations are invaluable today.

 

May God bless you and lead you all your days.

*CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS! – WATCH THAT YOU ARE NOT DECEIVED!

 

Jesus’ famous warning about these last days to watch that we are not deceived was not said to a group of nonbelievers!  It was spoken to his closest disciples!  So obviously it is a great and sincere warning to each of us who have Jesus as our Lord.

 

After watching the behavior of various persons and groups, including people who are believers, over these past few years, I see a real need to point this out and to give some guidance.  Let’s look at these illustrations:

 

LAST INAUGURATION DAY

In the last presidential election, even after election day and in the period leading up to the inauguration day of January 20, there was among some believers a sense that the former president, Donald Trump, had a group of persons supporting him with a lot of power – including military for example – and that just before January 20 he and they would take over the government. They would expose all the evil doing among various politicians in the country and Trump would be put back in as president.

 

 

Now this so impacted some believers that as that day approached, I suddenly received an email from one of our partners who had heard all this.  She wrote to inquire about it and when it was going to happen, if it was going to happen.  She pointed out that the “prophets” were all saying this, prophets well respected by others.  By the word prophets she evidently meant some of the prominent tv and internet persons who call themselves prophets. 

 

 

 

None of this turned out to be true.  These so called prophets – including apparently some fairly well known persons – had gotten their views from who knows where.  Perhaps it was wishful thinking.  I could do little to help her except to tell her to pray about those giving out words she thought prophetic, to inquire of God and to search the Bible to see if their words or what they were doing seemed to fit and be right. 

 

 

 

This was a group of people – perhaps not connected to each other at all – who were living in delusion and deception or who were misleading people willing to believe a hope, a fantasy.  They were people who operate in the Christian world and indeed maybe they are sincere believers.  They themselves may have been deceived.  I want to point out right now, not all deceivers are from the far left, progressive, woke, cancel-culture side of things.  Obviously some are from the conservative and supposedly Christian side.

 

 

 

You can’t just depend on others to tell you what to believe and how to act.  You have to discern yourself, to seek the Lord’s guidance.  This is where being filled with and baptized in the Holy Spirit is such a great help.  The Holy Spirit will guide you in all truth.  He will show you the right path if you are open to him and willing to let him do so, if you will just spend sufficient time with the Lord to hear.

 

 

 

COVID

Today I just saw an email from another follower of our ministry. They were concerned about my reporting in a recent Watchman Warning that virtually all the people in the hospitals today for covid are unvaccinated people.  They said I should stop looking at the media.  Evidently they thought I was being misled. 

 

 

But you too should know if you pay attention to the hard facts, the statistics, that this is indeed true.  Everywhere now from numerous sources - such as government and university groups that keep such records to newspapers and local television stations  to just plain good old local doctors - this truth is known.  The overwhelming number of persons in the hospitals and dying with covid are those that have not been vaccinated.

 

 

 

I know many people from various backgrounds for various reasons were and are greatly concerned about this vaccine – some thought it not tested enough, some for the fear that comes from their ancestors having been used unknowingly in a medical test decades ago, some others believing that those behind the vaccine were part of a conspiracy.  I know that even some people in the medical field have not had the vaccine.

 

 

 

But all this does not change the fact that those sick enough from covid to be in hospitals and those dying of the covid virus are almost entirely unvaccinated people. 

 

 

 

Don’t be deceived.  Deception can come from the conservative side and indeed from some in the “Christian” community too, as I just described above.  It is up to you to decide what to believe and how to go forward.  So many individuals don’t want to have to figure things out, to discern for themselves.  God is here to help you in that, but you have to take the steps, spend the time, do the research.  Or at the least find persons and authorities you truly know are serious believers that God guides you too.  Be suspicious and check out anyone with unusual, unorthodox theories.  Maybe one will be true.  Maybe a lot will not.

 

 

 

AFGHANISTAN

Right now our nation is going through the throes of a complete catastrophe in Afghanistan. The management of the withdrawal has been a nightmare.  Taking out the military before removing the American citizens and the Afghans who had worked with the Americans is almost unfathomable, yet that is what the current American government did.  And in doing so, it showed the world and our giant adversaries on earth like China and Russia and others, just how confused and apparently incompetent the leadership of America now is.

 

 

The behavior of our current president has led many to question just who is running things in the government.  Whoever it is is not doing a good job.  One Washington official just declared he wants to know who is behind the curtain. I’m sure we all would like to.

 

 

 

In any event, this administration and whoever is behind it have indeed sought to deceive the American people with the health and abilities of the current president, but that deception is becoming more evident.  What will happen next in the government?  That I don’t know.  Maybe nothing.  But you yourself must seek not to be deceived.  Live with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

 

 

 

 

 

That’s enough for now.  Obviously we are in the midst of the last days.  Obviously deception is everywhere.   

 

And obviously so many things are happening.  Jesus warned of nation against nation, of earthquakes and pestilence and storms and fearful things and on and on.  Well, we are in the midst of this.

 

In all things keep your eyes on Jesus.  Use the gifts of the Spirit, especially the gift of discernment, to see and understand the truth in situations.  And if you don’t have the Holy Spirit or know what I am talking about, find some spirit filled Christian to pray for you to receive and be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
