We live in the midst of an
enormous spiritual war, a war between good and evil, between Satan and all his
followers and the forces of God.
This spiritual war has always impacted
our physical world, sometimes dramatically so such as WWII (Hitler and the
Nazis). It has grown dramatically on
earth in our day. This battle involves
people of all sorts. There are good
people fighting on the side of good in all races, all economic levels, all
nationalities. And there are bad people
fighting on the evil side in all races, all nationalities, all economic levels.
This war only gets worse as we
head for the end of these last days, the return of Jesus to collect his
believers, the Tribulation, the battle at Armageddon, and the establishment of
Kingdom rule from Jerusalem and the beginning of the thousand years.
The large group of people out
there that appear so insane and irrational to you and me really are horribly
misled – but their behavior is due to demonic influences, the evil one and his
minions running amuck. How often today
do we hear politicians and reporters and entertainers calling good evil and
evil good? How often do we see and hear
militant groups justifying their outrageous and violent behavior with insane
explanations, or even not justifying it at all?
And we know what God says about all this:
Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter! – Isaiah 5:20 NIV
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter! – Isaiah 5:20 NIV
Born again, spirit-filled
Christians can discern the truth of what is going on if they use the Holy
Spirit gift of discernment. But others
can’t, at least not usually. Unfortunately there are a great many more people
out there who are not born again, spirit-filled Christians than there are in
the born again, spirit-filled group.
Obviously our battle really is
against the evil spirits, as Paul pointed out when he said: For our struggle is not against flesh and
blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the
powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the
heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12 NIV). But sadly the
evil is manifesting through these lost, misled people, and those on the side of
good must protect themselves against this behavior and them and take all wise
steps to confront and stop this evil.
And thus it goes.
This is where we are and the
environment on earth in which we all find ourselves. Keep your eyes on Jesus, focus, protect
yourselves with the tools God gives us such as putting on the armor, the
protection of the angels God has sent us, and the casting out of evil spirits
in Jesus’ name as Jesus has said we can do.
In these last days do your part
to get the truths of Jesus and his imminent return out to all you can. Talk to others about all this, ask the Holy
Spirit for guidance and to arrange divine encounters. Give people copies of our book WAKE UP
AMERICA! That is a nonthreatening thing you
can do. They can read it in their own
homes by themselves.
All this will eventually end. But as of this writing it hasn’t.
